LancasterCounty has a long history. Originally formed in 1729 from ChesterCounty, Lancaster was one of the doorways to expansion, both southern and western.Over the years, many individuals and families passed through the area leaving pieces of their family’s history behind.The Lancaster Public Library is just one of the many sources available to genealogists in LancasterCounty.

Researchers can also access Ancestry.com using the library’s Public Internet Access Computers.
The Lancaster Public Library also provides a link to the Heritage Quest database, which can be accessed using their library card by our patrons in the library or from home.
Genealogical Services:
